[1] seam-line merges two planes
[2] tether-line creates vertical places by holding planes to horizons
[3] void-line is made by two planes converging or expanding carve-line is made by two planes converging or expanding into
folds
[4] axis-line exists as the vertical and horizontal
[5] edge-line mark the extremities of planes and place frame-line hold the particular moments of place; they are
windows and doors
[6] fissure-line emerges at the tearing of planes and their convergence or expansion
[7] horizon-line occurs in the horizontal and vertical placement of two merged planes

 

 

the symbiotic existence between mind and hand is manifested in the chronicles if the sketch. though their creation evolved in a lineal temporal progression, their intellectual consequences are not reliant on the movement of time. instead, pieces are re-imagined and sifted in their own mindful placements; the line is their relational existence

[1] laying out edges: paper establishes the field 

[2] tools: tools effect the construct and measure of lines; a collection of pencils that range from soft to hard in lead texture and size of circumference

[3] the hand, mind, and tool: the interaction of hand becomes a tactile experience and tangent to the process; the hand touches paper and tool simultaneously in moments of construction. pressure and placement of told both determine the shape of line
